Fishing in High Country
Waters
Fishing for the native Yellowstone Cutthroat
trout is always an exciting experience. The annual
Yellowstone Cutthroat spawn in June and early
July, is probably the most productive period
as they bite on nearly any kind of bait. It is
kind of like the elk bugle and the deer rutting
seasons -- they are intent on reproduction and
nothing else.
The cutthroat fishing success diminishes somewhat
as the summer wears on, thus is the importance
of our T.O.P. Guides to get you to the right
locations for success including the high mountain
lakes and the Snake River Cutthroat Trout hideaways. Whether
you spin fish or fly fish, we have the expertise
and patience to make your trip one of the most
memorable.
To learn about our T.O.P. professional pack
and/or fishing trips, you may order a copy of
our special fly-fishing video produced by ESPN
Outdoors' Barrett Productions, filmed on location
in the Two Ocean Pass camp. Barrett produces
the award winning "Fly Fishing the World" series
and, during this trip, John Winter guided Barrett
and legendary actor and outdoors enthusiast Tom
Skerritt to our favorite fishing spots of the
Yellowstone backcountry region. Known for his
roles in "A River Runs Through It", "Top Gun",
and the popular television series, "Picket Fences",
Tom shows how fun and easy fly-fishing can be
for native Cutthroats. This video is
